Why
look "out of state" for debt consolidation assistance
when you have the resources available right where you live? Unlike
many states, New York believes that debt consolidation agencies (Debt
Counselors) that assist New York residents should first be an IRS approved
not for profit organization and licensed by the New York State banking
department. The New York State legislature has passed a new law that
requires out of state debt management agencies as well as debt
consolidation agencies with a physical presence in New York be licensed
before assisting any New York state resident.
Ironically, states
that do not require licensing or regulation is where you will find the
vast majority of debt management agencies.
Fortunately,
for those out of state applicants, you are still entitled to the same
benefits that New York state residents receive simply by joining our
program.
